Karen Heath started dancing
at the age of 3 years old. She did all her
training under the watchful eye of Carol Timmins.
At 16, Karen left school
after gaining her GCSE's and travelled to the Isle of
Wight to spend the summer as a Blue Coat.
After a couple of years,
she decided to spread her wings and at the age of 18,
embarked on her first cruise ship. Loving the
life, Karen continued cruising for the next 5 years.
Finding dry land, Karen
worked with dance groups in Greece and Italy, as well as
finding time to perform in Pantomimes here in the U.K.
She became part of a touring cabaret visiting holiday
parks in the north east, where she met her husband.
With the Wedding booked
for September 2002, Karen saw herself on 1 last cruise
in the Caribbean for the millennium as part of an
illusion act.
Once back home, Karen
decided to settle down to teaching. Karen said "
There is a lot of talent out there and I want to
encourage all our pupils, and pass on any knowledge and
experience i have personally gained."
Karen is assisted by her
mum, Mavis, and several student teachers who are at
various levels with their teaching examinations.
Karen i now part of the
I.D.T.A. (International Dance Teachers Association)
Midlands Area Committee and has just finished her first
year as chairperson.
