| Hello and
welcome to the home page of Kay Jay School of Dance.
I am Karen and I hope you
find our web site useful.
Kay Jay School of Dance was
formed in 2000 by Karen Heath who has spent a lot of
time performing on stage in the UK as well as around the
world.
In 2000, to encourage the
already growing number of dedicated pupils, the school
put on a show at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton.
The next show in 2003 was even more successful of which
a number of the schools performers have gone on to
appear in Children's Variety Performances in the West
End. We do a show every year at the Arena in
Wolverhampton City Centre of which our last one was
2007. Several have also appeared at the London
Palladium.
For some pupils this is a
once in a lifetime experience but for others it is a
stepping stone for a career on stage or television. Our
pupils have also taken part in the Mayors Charity Gala
for the past two years.
Each year all the pupils are
invited to participate in dancing examination and
qualifications. The Kay Jay School of Dance regularly
achieves a 100% pass rate from it pupils who participate
in these examinations. Two of our senior boy's have
also taken part in the Ken Dodd Tap Awards in Manchester
as a result of their exams.
Nathan Williams, one of our senior
boy's has also participated in the production of
'Oliver' starring Gary Wilmot at the Alexander Theatre
in Birmingham and has also spent a number of months
working and filming with CITV.
We also have a number of
student teachers that are currently working towards
their teaching examination and qualification.
Karen has commented that
it makes her very proud to see the talent and dedication
in some of today's youth.
